Fill Your Printer Cartridge With Fountain Pen Ink!!!

Fill Your Printer Cartridge With Fountain Pen Ink!!!

Have you ever thought of refilling inkjet printer cartridges with ink other than refill-ink?
Its possible! [And of cause Cheap

What you need:
  • Inkjet Printer
  • Empty Printer Cartridge
  • Fountain pen ink
  • Syringe
What I used is a HP Deskjet 840c Printer, but I think any inkjet printer would work fine. But there is possibility this thing could go wrong and make you cartridge unusable. So proceed with caution! (Only the cartridge might become unusable, Printer will work fine in any case)

First find how to refill your ink cartridge by searching the internet, so you can locate the refill holes.
(And to find out if there is any spacial way to follow like "inject ink into the sponge inside" or something like that )

Then what you got to do is easy, just fill the syringe with some ink (10-20 ml) and inject it to the cartridge.
(In first time don't use more than 20 ml or it might leak)

Then try printing....

Actually the quality of this printed document will be a bit low. But it's definitely enough for printing text.

[I'll upload some of my works photos ASAP]Sorry it took me half a year to upload this pictures... :(

Color of these letters is blue... but my webcam sucks!

    1. Sorry I took this long to reply.
      Yeah there is a chance this could go wrong.but it would only ruin your cartridge (so the printhead too).
      (To protect the printhead: stop printing if ink stops flowing, don't let the ink to get dry)

      Here is the thing: I got some printers which weren't working. I already had a working printer, and thats why I took the risk.
      So If you have only one printer I suggest you should use regular refill ink.
      If you are doing this for fun try out FP ink

      {By the way: By any chance if you are not reusing ink cartridges, you definitely should try this}

  3. There is an other thing I should say. I found out that the printer stops working in about 2 three days. it won't work even if I refilled. Then I mixed FP ink with a bit of r/egular refill ink. and it worked.

    But seriously don't try this unless you can live with a broken printer.
    I suggest try this if;
    you have two or more printers and don't care if something happens to the printer
    or
    you don't refill your cartridges, but buy new ones each time they get dry.

  4. thnx bro. i was just confused about the printer head. but i think i can spare a cartridge. it is printing good for me currently. and to prevent ink drying i refill it everytime i wanna use it, and seal the refill hole with tape. the guy who refills them demanded 100 bucks but i think i can manage that myself with rs 20 black ink and rs 5 syringe and needle. i know i am cheap but thats what being indian is about!and besides the original cartridge costs rs 899 on flipkart so i am definitely not buying that!

  5. Dear Geethanjana Wanigasekara, Thanks a lot for the post. Well, I want to use this method with HP 678 Cartridge. I won't mind if the Cartridge gets damaged, But is there any chance so that HP 1515 printer can get damaged? Please shrae your thought.

  6. Well if your ink leaks to the printer, leaked ink might get on to other papers when printing, but you can clean the ink and let it dry out.

    Chances of ink getting into circuitry is very low, any ink is bad for circuitry, so manufactures build many methods to prevent ink from getting into circuit. So your ink probably won't get into any circuitry.
